I must say India truly charms me in more ways than one, and I will tell you how. Being an Australian from the sleepy town of Adelaide, I embarked on an adventurous journey last year to India. The wonder and beauty of this multi-cultural and truly diverse land kept me speechless for days to come. There is so much to do when you are in India, and the plethora of options for an adventure seeker like me spoilt me for choice. Whilst my stay and travel to various parts of this beautiful country, I came across stunning wildlife, raw and rugged natural scenic beauty, creative and historical monuments, and the amazing warmth of Indians.
An Experience It Was…..
My adventures took me trekking in Ladakh where I visited the famous monasteries. I even travelled down south and indulged in kayaking in Karnataka, challenging the rapids at Dandeli. And if that was not enough, I went water rappelling in Coorg, Maharashtra and Bangalore as well. I cannot forget the jeep safaris at Bheemeshwari wilderness, and I certainly cannot tell you enough about the wildlife encounters of the close kind I experienced at Nagarhole, camping the night out there was a mind blowing experience in the arms of nature.
India is large and very diverse, and with so many adventure sports around to be at, you would surely have a whale of a time. But you need the right travel buddy to make this all happen for you, and I recommend Thrillophilia – AdventureTravelIndia. I wouldn’t walk the talk without an experience, and trust me when I say I do not mince my words. My friends back home know me as a man who wouldn’t mind calling a spade a spade, but the trip was really well planned and when I travelled the only thing left for for me was to ENJOY!!
Are You Ready to Traverse the Ruggedness, Try Trekking!
Trekking in India was an experience I will never forget: Exciting and wonderful are two words to describe this gifted experience. I was taken on trekking expeditions matching my difficulty levels to the Himalayan kingdom, Leh-Ladakh, Uttaranchal, Sikkim, Goa and Karnataka. As an adventure seeker I must say my travel buddy did everything to make this experience perfect. While trekking in Ladakh I came across the most spectacular monasteries, rugged terrains, scenic landscapes, dotted hamlets across the hillocks and mountains, breathtaking flora and fauna around the Karakorum Valley as well. Down south, when trekking in Karnataka was done, I came in close contact with the rawness of nature, walked on remotest of trails through the dense jungles of Bheemeshwari, rappelling in Coorg under the cascading waterfalls was a pleasure. Fishing in the Kabini River and catching the Mahaseer was an enthralling experience. And I thought trekking was all about walking, how wrong was I?
I Loved Biking in the Mountains and Hills Across India
If you really want to experience nature in an adventurous way, biking in India should be on your planned schedule. While biking in India I came across snow covered peaks kissed by the shimmering rays of the sun. I even challenged rugged terrains and cobbled ways to reach my destinations. Nature always threw curved balls at me with hairpin bends and steep roads, the thrill of overcoming the challenges with a bike as a friend made me overcome all obstacles. While biking around at various places in Shimla, Manali, Kullu, Ladakh, Solang, Coorg, Maharashtra’s western Ghats and Arunachal Pradesh, I came across the varies topography of India’s famous adventure hubs. You may like it smooth or hard, rough as well, biking in India is always a pleasure, don’t miss it for anything.
How Can I Forget the Thrills of White Water Rafting?
If you love the waters and would like to challenge the forces of nature, rafting in India is the adventure sport for you to delve into. The perfect way for me to release all that adrenaline and energy within. And while rafting in the upper Himalayas, the river Alaknanda, Bhagirathi, Garhwal, Kumaon, Teesta and Cauvery down south, I came face to face with breathtaking views of floral delights on either side of the river banks. It is a different experience challenging the untamed waters, with challenges and thrills, deep gorges and bends, obstacles and huge boulders to overcome; you never know where surprises take you off-guard.
The Powerful Jeep Safari Ventures Around India
I wanted to deeply connect with the natural beauty around, and thrillophilia arranged that for me as well. Right from the jeep safari tours in Ladakh, Garhwal, Lahaul, Nubra, Rajasthan, Ranthambore to the amazing safaris down south in Goa, Kerala, Karnataka, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, I was left speechless. I came across the thickest of forests, wildlife and endangered species of birds and animals, visited cultural places of interest, interacted with locals and tribal inhabitants and also fulfilled my thirst for nature spotting as well.
You Should Indulge in Mountaineering When You Come to India
India has the highest of peaks and the deepest of valleys, and when I tell you about the mountaineering in India experience, I have just one word, “Awesome”. Explored my fantasies of challenging the highest peaks at Ladakh, travelled to the deep valleys and gorges of Coorg, Goa and Kerala, engaged in rock climbing at the banks of the river Cauvery, indulged in rappelling in Rishikesh as well, and yet I was always wanting more.
The experience of being in India and indulging in adventure sports all through last year gave me all the thrills and chills I ever wanted. And if you would like to experience the same, India is the place to travel with lovely surprises in store for every adventure seeker.
