The Makadi Spa Hotel deserves every one of its five stars in my opinion! You can relax in the seemingly endless infinity pool or go some laps in the main pool, without worrying that any children will be splashing and screaming around. The hotel is adults-only with an emphasis on tranquillity and relaxation. The hotel is very close to the beach so it is a mere step before you are on the shore of a beautiful private beach where you can laze in the sun, swim or snorkel. Recently, the hotel has built some pool rooms which are enormous, and come with a private pool on the balcony – simply heavenly. The only grumble to be heard was about the lengthy, but now nearly completed, building work in progress.
The Sharm Resort Hotel is an excellent hotel for a family holiday on the Red Sea. Not only is the service excellent and welcoming of children, the prices are reasonable and you get good value for money. The facilities of the Sharm Plaza Hotel are also at your disposal and you can try your hand at table tennis, beach volleyball and even aqua aerobics. The nearest beach is a short stroll away, but some kind of footwear is advised as there are some sharp pieces of coral in the sand on the way down. Because of the family orientation of this four star hotel, all the restaurants have early dining times, children’s menus and a host of activities bound to delight any youngsters in your party.
Almost more theme-park than accommodation, the five-star Sunwing Family Star Hotel is set in a waterpark. Immense water-slides, a flume and an ‘Aqualoop’ that features a descent so speedy it will feel as if you are falling straight down are just some of the attractions of this five star hotel. In the embrace of bustling Makadi Bay, you will feel part of the action and fun as you try out the plentiful activities and water-sports that are freely available here.
The Makadi Palace Hotel (proud owner of five stars) lives up to its palatial name, resting tranquilly on the hillside in a beautifully landscaped setting. The gardens and grounds are known for being particularly stunning, offering a cool relaxing haven in the face of the blazing heat that can be experienced in Egypt. Four large pools mean that you can choose your company discerningly and the immense array of cuisine, both at the hotel and in the nearby Mall (a must-see), mean that you will be able to satisfy your taste for almost any style of cooking. The only problem with this hotel is that you will not want to leave it!
The Grand Makadi Hotel seems to encompass the best of both worlds: A five star rating and family oriented activities and menus! There is just the one swimming pool, but that is all that is needed with a private beach running the full length of the grounds. Plenty of activities, both land and water based, are available to keep the whole family active and entertained, while a wide array of snack bars, restaurants and cafes ensure that no-one goes hungry for long! There are also packages that include the option of dining at some of the other hotels that are clustered along Makadi Bay, to allow you to extend your palate.
The Grand Resort in Hurghada is a mere 300 metres from the beach. The five star resort is geared towards families with young children, couples and singles in search of rest and relaxation. The hotel has an unusual ‘figure of eight’ design, the two halves of which are divided so one half is lively, with
