Volunteering with the International Citizen Service

International Citizen Service (ICS) is a once-in-a-lifetime volunteering opportunity open to all 18 to 25-year-olds and it’s backed by the UK government. It gives young people the chance to work side-by-side with local volunteers in developing countries, to make a meaningful contribution to fighting poverty, and to gain valuable skills that will stay with you long after the 12-week placement is complete. Volunteering work is demanding but hugely rewarding – both in its own right and as a stepping stone to future job opportunities and to help you play a part in making the world a better place. ICS offer structured support and training to help and guide their volunteers – before, during and after their overseas placement. All UK-based 18 to 25-year-olds are welcome to apply, regardless of background, qualifications, disability and work history. If you want to find out more about volunteering abroad, please visit their site.
