  1.        Rea Valley, Birmingham

This cycle route is sure to be a firm favourite with the whole family. Starting in central Birmingham, you will ride along a mixture of tarmac and stone paths through the idyllic ReaValley. If you’re enjoying a holiday on a budget, follow the route along the Worcester and Birmingham canal towards the King’s Norton Park. This park is the perfect place for a picnic, plus, there is even an outdoors play area to keep the little ones entertained. If you have a little more money to spend, take a short detour to Cadbury World where you can find out how their delicious chocolate is made and maybe even pick some up for the journey home!

If you are feeling adventurous, take a break from cycling and experience Go Ape! – a high wire adventure course set among the trees. Boasting over 100 miles of off-road cycle routes, the New Forest offers gentle and picturesque cycle paths that allow you to explore the whole forest. Spend time admiring the many beautiful gardens and see if you can spot the forest’s local residents – wild deer, ponies and pigs – whilst you’re travelling. There are a range of pubs and restaurants as well as tea rooms serving food and drinks, all providing the perfect place to refuel after an epic cycling adventure.
